Former FBI agent Peter Strzok reaches $1.2 million settlement with DOJ: Lawyers

Source: ABC

Former FBI agent Pete Strzok, who was fired from the bureau in 2018 after his disparaging text messages about Donald Trump were made public, has reached a settlement with the Justice Department over his claims that his privacy rights were violated, according to his lawyers.

According to Strzok’s lawyers, the U.S. government has agreed to pay Strzok $1.2 million.

In his 2019 lawsuit, Strzok and his lawyers argued that the FBI and DOJ unlawfully disclosed his private text messages disparaging Trump before and after the 2016 presidential election -- including the time frame during which Strzok helped lead the agency's investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's private email server and Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Trump, who made Strzok a frequent target on social media, argued that Strzok's political bias tainted the early stages of the Russia investigation.

5. Didn't Pete Strzok, at FBI Counter INTEL, bust up a Putin Spy ring out of Canada operating in the US?

Think, along the lines of the TV show The Americans. Yeah Russia and that sort of well hidden spy network in real life. Putin was a grand poohba in Russian Intel. So, Pete Strzok cost Putin a good deal of assets and probably. Putin holds grudges. Trump took orders from Putin and did much to curry favor.

Glad to see Mr. Strzok is getting some retribution for the way he was treated, at Putin's behest.

But I'm happy that Peter Strzok is finally compensated for the shabby treatment he received form Chump's administration.

Hopefully, this is the beginning of a series of lawsuits to compensate him for what he went through. Not only should he be compensated for all expenses, past, current, and future, he should be compensated for reputational damage. No idea how to calculate the cost to him, but he was wronged by bad actors and somehow, he should be made whole. I'm thinking in the 10s of millions.

I wonder if they restored his pension. Maybe from seeing so many big numbers recently in connection to money that has and has not been donated to campaigns, this sounds like peanuts.

And Donnie Cheetolini was only too happy to do Putin's bidding. Donald Trump is the biggest spy and traitor that America has ever had.

have the audacity to whine that the DOJ is being weaponized. When you combine this case, Michael Cohen being thrown back in jail, Barr misrepresenting the Mueller report, Barr stepping in to water down any sentence for Stone, the DOJ policies for family separations aka kidnapping/child abuse/endangerment and the post election DOJ actions of Clark etc. it is pretty clear who the people "weaponizing" DOJ have been.

Works for The Donald!

Glad he got an award, just wish it would come out of the right person's hide instead of our own.
