Trump Tells Christians They Won't Have to Vote in Future: 'We'll Have It Fixed'
Source: Rolling Stone
Donald Trump, the former president who double downed on his ambitions of being a dictator, told a crowd gathered in West Palm Beach on Friday that if elected for a second term, they wont have to vote anymore.
At the Florida summit, hosted by conservative group Turning Point Action, Trump promised that if he wins in November, he would once again appoint rock-solid conservative judges who will protect religious liberty.
After repeating his usual unfounded claims about mail-in voting, Trump launched into an appeal directed at Christian voters. Christians, get out and vote! yelled Trump. Just this time. You wont have to do it anymore. Four more years. You know what? Itll be fixed! Itll be fine! You wont have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you, Christians! He added, You gotta get out and vote. In four years, you dont have to vote again. Well have it fixed so good, youre not gonna have to vote.
In December 2023, during a town hall in Davenport, Iowa, when asked by Fox News Sean Hannity if he would abuse power as retribution against anybody, Trump replied: Except for day one. I want to close the border, and I want to drill, drill, drill.

"I don't care how, but you have to get out and vote and again," he added. "Christians, get out and vote just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what? It will be fixed. It will be fine. You won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians."

Newsweek has reached out to Trump's press team for further comment on his statements.
Snippets of Trump's statements quickly circulated on social media, and some critics accused the former president of saying that he plans to cancel future presidential elections if reelected to the White House. Ron Filipkowski, an attorney and frequent critic of Trump, reposted a video from the Turning Point event to his X, formerly Twitter, account, writing, "Just remember, we told you who he was and what he intends to do."

I saw the Newsweek article, while searching news, but since its on my pay-no-mind list, I went on and subsequently forgot all about it. Its a crack in the wall, however, and I expect it cant be ignored.

He hold his right hand up to his chest and repeats it.
But Christians are still flocking to him. I wonder if he's an atheist?

(333 posts)I looked for this to hit the late night Friday news, but I'm guessing that the big news was the Olympics opening, which makes sense given how busy the week has been. (Not even a week, really!)
I trust that we will see this clip contextualized fully by Monday, if not before. I bet Lawrence has something to say about it! And I'm sure the Harris campaign is On The Job.

Trump tells Christian group you wont have to vote anymore if he wins 2nd term
YouTube · ABC7
Trump does say "I'm not Christian." While holding his right hand up to his chest. He clearly means it. He's Not Christian.
If course not. The devil isn't a Christian.
But it's probably a symptom of his dementia. He can't keep track of all his lies so, he tells the truth sometimes. Not being Christian and not allowing people to vote again were 2 things he wasn't supposed to say.
You think the Christians at the rally noticed?

(51,278 posts)this. But he's always claimed to be a Christian.
That isn't the part to focus on, though. It's what he said about voting.

(185 posts)"I am not a Christian" too. However, the data below was taken from Mediaite's interpretation:
And again, Christians, get out and vote! he said to a cheering audience. Just this time. You wont have to do it anymore. Four more years. You know what? Itll be fixed! Itll be fine! You wont have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you, Christians! Im a Christian. I love you. Get out. You gotta get out and vote. In four years, you dont have to vote again.

(27,130 posts)Thats a red herring not worth serious consideration. Occams Razor cuts quite cleanly through it. Theres the slurring, which is a valid point, but he would never say such a thing to that group while trying so desperately to pull his biscuits out of the fire.

(27,130 posts)and as I did, I pondered the corporate media - conspicuous in their absence from news searches. Rolling Stone was the biggest name readily recognizable to many people. Where are cable and broadcast news - media which appears before many more eyes than RS. They cant ignore this for much longer, however, and his insane ramblings will be inevitably become too big to contain.

(224 posts)I think he meant to say, "I'm a Christian." But it came out "I'm naaa Christian. . ."
Farmer-Rick
(10,888 posts)I would think that yeah, maybe he said naaaa except for several gestures he used to accompany his denial of Christianity.
He held his right hand up to his chest. He does that when he claims he's speaking the truth.
He shook his head back and forth slightly in the NO gesture most Americans use.
If it was naaaa, he wouldn't have held his hand up to his chest or shake his head no. He was very definitive.
Funny how the corporate media is ignoring his denial of his Christianity. And the stupid crowd full of Christians just keeps on cheering as if he didn't say it.
Talk about gas lighting. I saw it and heard it.
Why isn't the corporate media asking him about it. That would clear it up.
