CNN denies that Harris interview length was edited

Source: The Hill

08/31/24 11:02 PM ET

CNN said its recent interview with Vice President Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), was not edited despite allegations that it was spliced and shortened.

A theory online among former President Trump’s supporters began to spread late this week that the 27-minute interview that aired was originally 41 minutes long, meaning a large chunk of it was edited out.

“Is there any world in which @CNN would tape an interview with @realDonaldTrump and edit it for broadcast to remove any inconsistencies, mistakes, or controversial statements?” Trump supporter and billionaire Bill Ackman said in a now-deleted post on X, Mediaite highlighted.

CNN confirmed to The Hill that the interview, which aired Thursday, aired in its entirety.

41 minutes... these weird people are just pulling numbers out of the air at this point.

Maybe Trump can make a solid 14 minutes of gaffes, bizarre statements, and bigoted remarks. But some people are capable of talking normally.

Otherwise, why would they make such a silly claim?

If they did that, they'd have an interview comprised solely of the questions. The weird old guy seems to be incapable of speaking coherently at all.

Dana's questions were out of the MAGA playbook. That is why local rallies and interviews with the local press are the way to go.

They are rarely real time. They are never unedited or smoothed out.

They are alwsys edited.

So they just assume everyone gets that treatment when in fact, only tsf enjoys it.
