Elon Musk's attacks on Kamala Harris become more unhinged, with help from AI

Source: CNN

Elon Musk’s disdain for the Democratic Party was never subtle, but in recent weeks his commentary on the upcoming US presidential election and his attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris have intensified, aided by a crude use of burgeoning artificial intelligence technology.

On Monday, Musk posted an AI-generated image on his social media platform that depicted Harris as a communist, wearing a red uniform complete with hammer and sickle emblazoned hat.

Musk, who has endorsed former President Donald Trump for president and poured millions into a super PAC supporting the Republican, captioned the image with the false assertion, “Kamala vows to be a communist dictator on day one. Can you believe she wears that outfit!?”

The image, which appeared to violate X’s policy on manipulated content, resembled an AI-generated image posted by Trump last month during the Democratic National Convention, envisioning Harris addressing a crowd under communist symbols.

Trying to lose friends and convince Tesla owners and shareholders they done bad?

If you want a war using AI graphics, there are people better at it than your team.

I could take your AI picture, remove some stuff, change the color of what she is wearing - pale blue I think - and repost it.
Would take a few minutes, tops.
But I don't want to sink to your level.
Get a grip and grow up!

in where one spends, or doesnt spend their money. Similarly - where one clicks translatesnto profit for person doing what you maybe dont want them to do. Which in this case is serving as a platform for propaganda and undermining of our democracy-- not exactly a trivial thing!

What is on that dang platform that cant be done some other way. I really don't get it.

why I was wrong and we shouldnt bother. Well Im not wrong! When Mr. Musski first took over there was an exodus of advertisers which got plenty of attention. I dont know what the status of the ad revenue is now, but I would bet another further significant decline in users would certainly get everyone's attention. Journalists, historians,anti-fascist/ anti-hate group organizations need to monitor and report on this stuff but there's no reason ordinary people have to be there - is there? ETA - just to be clear, this is one of those both/ands. What you say about tax dollars is true, AND there needs to be activism that is more.... well, ACTIVE!!!
