Short answer- yes

Caveats- first liability must be proven under the terms of the policy. Second, the insurance company is only responsible up to the limit of the liability listed on the policy and excess coverage (if any).

Most homeowners' policies have under $500k liability coverage, perhaps as little as $100k.

Not that I support turning the world into "1984" or "Minority Report". But how many more missed opportunities will there be before violent threats become recognized for the future indicators of violent behavior they are? The Parkland and Sandy Hook shooters had priors (mental health or legal).

It's primarily on them. They knew and still provided access to an MSSA - although their little psychopath may have circumvented whatever precautions they took.

We don't know who else was alerted. The FBI may not be able to alert the school or local authorities because rules.
