Verizon's network down for thousands of users, Downdetector shows

Verizon Communications network was down for thousands of users on Monday, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.
There were more than 100,000 incidents of people reporting issues with the telecom operators services, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports from a number of sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform.

As of 10:30 a.m. ET, nearly 55,000 Verizon customers reported an issue with phone service.
Users on X, formerly known as Twitter, expressed issues to Verizon Support. Many users reported having the SOS setting on their phones.
"We are aware of an issue impacting service for some customers," Ilya Hemlin, a representative for the company, said. "Our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue."
The cause is not yet known.
