Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd at a Kamala Harris rally in Flint on Friday, Lansing native Ervin "Magic" Johnson said he's been a big supporter of the vice president for years, and emphasized the importance of getting Black men out to vote for her.

"I'm here because I've known Kamala for over 20 years.

Cookie (his wife) and I supported her run for attorney general back in the state of California, her run for senator, and now we support her as the VP but now the biggest moment for all of us, November the 5th, we have to do all we can to elect Kamala Harris as the next president of the United States," said the former All-Star Los Angeles Laker.

"There's a lot of Black men in here and I don't mean to, you know, not talk to other people but this is important.

... but I find it hard to believe that some Black men are still undecided about voting for Harris.

Thank you Magic!

Lots of black men are switching to the Republican Party.

Not all black men are pro-woman. Some are quite "neanderthal-ish" and the Republican Party appeals to their misogyny. Some black men like the macho attitudes of the party.

Not all black men support the LGBTQ community.

Some black men did well with the tax breaks.

Some black men can't relate to the positives that Kamala offers around home ownership or child care credits.

It's a small percentage, but it's consistent with the gender divide in the rest of the country.

it can't be all that small. Because it's frightening in the rest of the country. I gather Mark Robinson is their porter boy.

The stats aren't the same. But if you look at black Trump supporters, most of them are men.

Misogyny appears to be independent from "race", creed, or color

(I used the quotes because really the only "race" of humans is the hy=uman race.)

Between the "rumors" that plagued Johnson's entire career and his LGBTQIA+ son, NBA coach Doc Rivers should have been Kamala's "point guard" for "courting" the black hetero male vote.
