Walz slams Vance in Ohio: 'Not a reflection' of the state's people

Source: msn/The Hill

Vice President Harris’s running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), slammed Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) at a campaign event near the senator’s hometown on Saturday, saying that former President Trump’s running mate does not reflect the “integrity” of the people in the state.

“He is not a reflection on the integrity of the people of Ohio,” Walz said at an event on behalf of the Harris Victory Fund, according to NewsNation’s Jackie Koppell. Walz condemned the senator for saying he would not have certified the 2020 presidential election and for refusing to answer whether Trump lost that race during their vice presidential debate last week.

Walz also hit Trump and Vance for amplifying false claims that they made about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio eating residents’ pets. “So now, in the midst of a chaotic world and in the final days of a consequential presidential election, Donald Trump stood on at that debate stage and said, ’They are eating dogs. They are eating cats,’” Walz said, per Koppell.

“I understand where I’m standing in Ohio, that kind of stuff would be funny if it wasn’t so damn dangerous,” he added. City officials in Springfield have since called these claims “baseless.”

Yes, Ohio elected him. Too many Dems stayed home and Dumpy was in his prime that year and he endorsed Vance. I get discouraged sometimes how red Ohio has become but I refuse to believe we are beyond hope. We used to be a blue state. If we can pass our anti-gerrymandering issue that will be a first step to getting more Dems into state offices and start spreading some sane and decent ideas. It’s a start. Thank you for not writing us off, Gov. Walz.

Boy, it would be nice to flip this state blue and getting rid of gerrymandering would be
a good 1st step. And a blue wave would help too.

Ohio has been ground zero for right wing disinformation for years going back to WLW in
Cincinnati on up to Rush, Christo Facsist Churches and their pastors, and generational
dumb fuckery and racism as bad as anywhere in America in parts of the state.

I used to be able to pick that station up here in Philly and listed to some of the talk shows including one with Bill Cunningham.

Just checked and that ass is STILL there.

With all the "well known" cities there (Cincinnati, Dayton, Akron, Cleveland, Toledo, Columbus), if somehow, the turnout machine could be activated ( *trails off*........). I suppose it didn't help when Dennis Kucinich and Nina Turner went loon.

and still has a sister and brother there. My sis worked there too for about 10 years before returning home with him to get married back here in PA. There was no excuse for Vance to have been elected there (although Ryan seemed to push the Democratic party apparatus away, so here we are ).

Please RECALL JD Vance and get a proper Senator to accompany Sherrod Brown to Washington on your behalf.

I'm including Repuke voters too. He's not representing you any better than he represents Ohio Democrats. The man is an embarrassment to Ohio.

there is no "recall" authority for federal elected office holders. The option would either be what you saw happen to George Santos (expulsion) or impeachment (where conviction would remove him).
