Montana GOP Senate Candidate Says Young Women Are 'Indoctrinated' On Abortion Issue

Republican Senate candidate Tim Sheehy of Montana lamented that young women between the ages of 19 and 30 are being indoctrinated on the issue of abortion during a campaign stop last year, according to The Daily Montanan.
Theyve been indoctrinated for too long, Sheehy said in recordings made public on Monday. Abortion is their No. 1 concern. Its all they want to talk about. They are single-issue voters. Its all about pro-choice, pro-choice, Republicans are pro-life, they want to take my rights away and lock me up and throw me away in prison.
He added: And I said, well, are you familiar with what Democrats position is on abortion? Its called murder. That is the position of the American Democrat Party. As the outlet noted, the claim that abortion makes it legal to kill newborns has been repeatedly debunked.
Sheehy, a wealthy rancher and former U.S. Navy SEAL, is hoping to oust Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) in a race that is likely to determine control of the U.S. Senate.

This is the one running against Tester and hopefully this can be considered HIS "Bernie Moreno (R-OH) " moment.

(5,022 posts)He doesn't get to decide what women in Montana, or ANYWHERE think and how they arrived at their views. Bad enough he's part of the group that wants to control our bodies, but now, he thinks he gets to explain our minds and views to us? Fuck that. Hope the wise people in Montana come out and show this trust fund wonder the door.

Every republican accusation is a confession.

(72,998 posts)I am sure Montana women be a 16 year old high school sophomore wants to keep the baby
after her boyfriend got her pregnant, the rape victim wants to have her rapists child, or the
mother who found out her 7 month old fetus has water on the brain which means the baby
will not live and her life is at risk too.
Keeping the seat blue is nice but protecting womens rights is more important.

(27,041 posts)morning sickness, the joys of labor is something that's just no trouble, need to be confronted.
I always want to ask if they've ever been pregnant. Or they could get pregnant. I'm also enraged by the suggestion that a woman would walk by an abortion clinic at 8 plus months of pregnancy and only then decide to terminate. Really? I am very aware of how difficult, complex, and painful the decision to abort can be. But it needs to be the woman's choice every time.

For many Right Wingers, a "broad outlook" means hating Abortion AND Gays as well as POC.
