Jan 6 prisoners Trump has vowed to free are becoming more radicalized inside jail, report says

Source: The Independent

Prisoners charged with and convicted of crimes related to the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, are reportedly growing more radical by being held together in a Washington, D.C., a harbinger of the dark mood around the 2024 election as top Republicans continue to deny or avoid the fact Trump lost the 2020 election and the former president himself has mused publicly in recent days that his supporters want him to “go after” his enemies.

Current and former inmates of the unit at the D.C. Jail, dubbed the “Patriot Wing,” told New York Magazine that their time facing charges for January 6 and living together only hardened their support for the false stolen election claims of Donald Trump, who has promised to pardon January 6 rioters.

“I haven’t met a single person here who regrets January 6,” Dominic Box, 34, who is charged with felony civil disorder, told the magazine. “Or who doesn’t think that it was a noble cause.” “I definitely am so much more for overthrowing the government after what they did to me,” former Patriot Wing inmate Brandon Fellows added in the piece. “I’m totally down. Especially if Trump doesn’t get in. I want it to happen. I wasn’t onboard before, but now — f*** these guys.”

Inside the wing, inmates also reportedly screen new transfers for their politics and ideology, and make threats to those who cooperated with the government or are suspected to be informants. The Independent has contacted officials overseeing the D.C. jail for comment.

... what would happen if they were dispersed throughout the federal system?

They would have infected thousands of prisoners all over. Fueled white supremacists all over the country.

This way they stew in their own juices and reinfect only each other. They were lost causes anyway.

in such a way that they ARE NOT housed with the highly susceptible or domestic terrorists. There are white-collar defendants all over the country who are NOT white supremacists, or violent, or with a history of insurrectionist writings or actions. They have the capacity to do so. You are giving them an excuse NOT to.

The militia types (Proud Boys, Three Percenters, etc.) are hardly going to be influenced in a way they are not ALREADY philosophically and mentally prepared to do. But, they have been that way for a long time. I'm talking about those who are not- the worst of the worst with a long history of violence-which is the majority.

The worst of the worst white boys are not going to be too boisterous if there are a majority of black or Hispanic group-aligned inmates with their own agendas. And somehow, I don't see the Proud Boys convincing members of any Hispanic or Black gang to their side.

...and we know that any hate group, or gang, or even crime syndicate becomes more organized and dangerous when housed together in prison despite the fact they are only there specifically because of their past criminal behavior.

Our prison system is broken in so many ways, and is very simply not a place where any kind of rehabilitation will occur.

Why the justice system went out of it's way to give these prisoners a special and unique opportunity to be housed together so that they continue building their anti-American organizational efforts, rather than simply follow standard prison housing procedures, is a question that should be looked into.

Instead of reinforcing their own nest of fantasies, as they are now, would you prefer they build their organization nationwide by being dispersed to other prisons and spreading their infection?

It sounds very much like the jailers are allowing and perhaps even encouraging the extreme radicalization of these mentally ill scumbags.

If Trump somehow wins and follows through with his pledge to release all these people, he will have his very own private presidential Brownshirt army. We will enter banana republic territory overnight.
