I actually have been buying black beans sold in pouches (microwavable) as the pouches are about 10oz in size, which is good enough for the multi-serving recipes that I use them in (and would be like 2, 5oz cans, which are harder for me to find vs only having the larger can). Of course that introduces more plastic into the environment.

I know the feeling! I usually make 2 "family size" meals on weekends that would come out to 7 servings, and will rotate through those each day during the week.
