Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has unveiled the much-anticipatedfive-point victory plan which he says could bring an end to the war by the end of next year.
An invitation to join Nato and specific weapons support from western allies sits front-and-centre of Kyivs plan, which Zelensky discussed with the US, UK, France, Italy and Germany leaders in a whirlwind tour.
The plans third point calls for a non-nuclear deterrence mechanism with the power to destroy Russias military, Zelensky told the members of Ukrainian parliament on Wednesday morning.
Zelensky said there is a secret addendum to the third point, which he could not disclose.
In renewed Western aid to Kyiv, Australia is sending dozens of soon-to-be-replaced Abrams tanks to Ukraine as part of a new military support package worth $245m (£126m)......................

I like this idea. The men and women of Ukraine have been willing to fight-and die
but they need much support from all the free countries.

if Ukraine were to join, Article 5 would be triggered, immediately leading to all member states being at war with Russia.

(6,687 posts)They even tried to get NK to eliminate their nuclear program. Not so much now, that's a different topic for discussion.
China sent "volunteer" troops over the border and to combat air superiority, Russia sent in pilots and planes we weren't sure that even existed during the Korean war. They spoke Korean for a couple of weeks, then Russian after, it was an open secret.
So it should be no surprise after over a half a century they finally pay the debt they owe. My concern, its what did they promise NK in addition for the troops. As well as Iran for weapons. These transactions are seldom one party.
