WASHINGTON, Oct 16 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Wednesday about efforts to surge security assistance to Ukraine and announced a new $425 million military aid package, the White House said.

The security package includes air defense capability, air-to-ground munitions, armored vehicles and critical munitions, the White House said in a statement.

Zelenskiy, writing on Telegram, expressed gratitude to Biden, both parties of Congress and the American people for the new package and said he spoke to Biden about Kyiv's five-point "victory plan," which he presented to parliament on Wednesday.

"I proposed considering the possibility of joint weapons production," he said. "We also discussed the importance of additional training for Ukrainian soldiers."

People are struggling in the US right now. I don't think this bodes well for the Harris campaign when it comes to Trump voters. They have tunnel vision.

Most undecideds or persuadable Trumpists won't even notice another half billion to Ukraine, which will be a blip on the news they're not watching anyway.

Everyone could be a millionaire in this country but nope, another $425,000,000 for the Ukraine.

Can't even take care of our own.

I had to attempt to apply for Medi-Cal the other day. One of the most humiliating experiences of my life as I need HELP living alone at my age with a serious disability.

I left feeling like a beggar and a criminal. No help for me, that was pretty clear. My refrigerator is about empty.

Something is very wrong with this picture isn't it?

Helping Ukraine is in our national interest. We cannot throw them to the wolves.

Keep things in perspective.

All told, Ukraine aid is about $184 per person.

Not every American can become a millionaire with what was spent.
