CNN More than a dozen Republicans who were fake electors in 2020, including several facing criminal charges, are serving as former President Donald Trumps official electors in battleground states this year, according to a CNN survey.
Another 16 GOP electors from these states are election deniers who say President Joe Bidens victory in 2020 was fraudulent. Combined, these election deniers and 2020 fake electors represent more than a third of the 82 electors picked this year to support Trump in the seven states where he attempted to overturn the results in 2020.
The involvement of these Republican activists in the Electoral College process this year, especially in critical battlegrounds like Pennsylvania and Michigan, could lead to post-election chaos if Trump is defeated and they try again to subvert the will of the voters. Their participation also highlights how a huge part of the Republican Party continues to fully embrace Trumps election denialism
Those who participate in election fraud should be held accountable, not given another bite at the apple, said Lindsey Miller, research director at Informing Democracy, a nonprofit that works to safeguard the vote-counting and election certification process.

There is a new law ( Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act of 2022), the content of which was rolled into an end of FY appropriations bill, so much of the nonsense would be irrelevant - and particularly here in PA.
The Governor signs the Certificate of Ascertainment here in PA, and that would be Josh Shapiro, who was AG in 2020 when they tried to pull the nonsense before but Shapiro neglected to prosecute like you finally saw GA, AZ, & MI do because of how they worded their submission here (which had a "caveat" ).
From here, RE: Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act of 2022 - https://www.ncsl.org/state-legislatures-news/details/what-the-electoral-count-reform-act-means-for-states
The new law mainly addresses what Congress does after electors are sent forward from the states. It creates a new threshold for members to object to a slate of electors (one-fifth of the members of both the House and the Senate), identifies the role of the vice president as solely ministerial and clarifies that Congress must defer to the slates as determined by the states.
It also addresses the states side of the equation. It codifies that the executive of each state sends forward the states slate of electors. The law indicates that, in this context, the executive is usually a governor. But if state law in effect prior to the election explicitly identifies another officer, such as the secretary of state, that works as wellthe law simply requires certainty before the election.
Additionally, it requires some kind of security feature on the certificate of ascertainment (the official document identifying a states appointed electors), again as determined by the state before the election. The goal is to be sure that the right slateand only that slateis transmitted. The law also clarifies that electors shall be appointed in accordance with the laws of the State enacted prior to election day. A state cant change the rules after the voting starts.
