Kamala Harris for president - Endorsement (largest paper in Pennsylvania!)

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer

Voters face an easy but tectonic choice in the race for the White House.

Will they choose the first woman or the oldest man to be the next president?

Will they choose the prosecutor or the convict?

Will they choose the candidate who supports restoring Roe v. Wade, or the man who bragged about overturning it?

Will they choose the candidate with a tax plan to help the middle class or the one who wants to help the superrich?

Will they choose the candidate who backs a tough bipartisan immigration law or the guy who killed the measure?

Will they choose the candidate who wants to combat climate change or the one who thinks it is a hoax?

Will they choose the candidate who upholds the peaceful transfer of power or the one who summoned a violent mob to attack the U.S. Capitol?

skip to the conclusion:

America deserves much more than an aspiring autocrat who ignores the law, is running to stay out of prison, and doesn’t care about anyone but himself.

The better angels of our nature demand it.

There is only one candidate — Kamala Harris — who will preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States from foreign and domestic enemies.

So help us, God.

(I have been searching for the past 2 hours for some news site to write a story about this and finally now found one, because I got the breaking news alert when the Inky did this but there was no story attached and nothing but Los Angeles Times and Washington Post whining articles coming up in searches)

It really makes sense to support those organizations that aren't actively trying to subvert democracy in favor of their wealthy owners.

I’ve been a subscriber for years and I recommend it highly! It’s not enough to deprive Bezos and his ilk of cash, though it’s quite important as greed and the subversion of democracy is their religion, we need to steer our hard earned dollars to newspapers, media outlets and companies that share our belief in upholding democracy and protecting basic human rights like paying workers their rightful share of the monies they earned for the business, respect for the environment and the dignity of all people. Once upon a time there was a marvelous website BuyBlue that catalogued companies and rated them in these categories. Sadly it’s not in operation any more, but needs to be resurrected. We should not financially subsidize those who wish to destroy our democracy and ultimately enslave us under the crushing jackboot of fascist dictatorship. ✊🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼✊🏼

I get multiple emails/texts from them per day since I have sent money. It has become a major nuisance.

I do remember a similar site that did what you are talking about - rating companies based on their contributions to candidates/parties. Don't know where that is anymore and if the proliferation of the PAC/hidden money hasn't made that type of tracing very difficult.

I meant to type BuyBlue not Act Blue which has been uppermost on the brain due to my using it repeatedly to make donations I made the appropriate correction thanks!

But yes I’d like to see BuyBlue make a comeback.
