Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) revealed on Saturday that shes cancelled her subscription to The Washington Post following the newspapers decision not to endorse a candidate in this years presidential election. Cheney, in a talk with The New Yorker editor David Remnick at The New Yorker Festival on Saturday, emphasized the fear tied to the decision before going after the newspapers billionaire owner, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
When you have Jeff Bezos apparently afraid to issue an endorsement for the only candidate in the race whos a stable responsible adult because he fears Donald Trump, that tells you why we have to work so hard to make sure that Donald Trump isnt elected, said the Republican per The Hollywood Reporter.
She continued, And I think also, why we ought to not forget what has happened, forget whos taken brave and courageous stands. And I canceled my subscription to The Washington Post, just saying.
The condemnation from Cheney, a harsh Trump critic who has been stumping for Kamala Harris on the campaign trail, comes after the Posts editorial board reportedly drafted an endorsement of the vice president before Bezos reviewed it and ultimately decided against its publication.

(45,568 posts)A newspaper like WAPO is a different story though. They should have endorsed. And their decision not to is coming back to bite them. Good!

(556 posts)Im just saying- if one wishes to inflict financial pain on Jeff Bezos, Amazon is one way to do that, though it would require a lot of participation.

(517 posts)Would be appropriate for the billionaire oligarchs trashing our republic. Tesla, Starlink, and Space-X would function even better without interference from Musk. Musk doesnt do squat. Its the engineers at the companies that make everything work. The one place where Musk took control, Twitter/X is now a worthless cesspool. And hes on his way to doing the same to Tesla if the Board doesnt dump him.
