Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) urged people to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris to make sure women have life-saving health care and said the overturning of Roe v. Wade is uniting women who are pro-choice and pro-life.
You have pro-life women all across this country who have been watching whats happened in places like Texas and places like North Carolina, where since Roe was overturned, you had laws put in place at the state level that are preventing women from getting life-saving care, Cheney said on Sundays episode of State of the Union.
She continued: You have women like me, who have been pro-life, are saying, What we have seen happen cannot stand.
She referenced the attorney general of Texas suing for the medical records of women who have sought abortions out of state, calling out that former President Donald Trump, who took credit for the overturn of Roe v. Wade, wont make his medical records public.

(41,356 posts)Did it take women bleeding out in hospital parking lots, ectopic pregnancies not terminated when the known outcome of not terminating an ectopic pregnancy can lead to death, draconian laws excluding exceptions for rape and incest, attempts to keep women from traveling, and laws that would pay bounty hunters to turn women and their family and friends over to law enforcement for her to understand that the overturning of Roe would pose an existential threat to the health and life of women? Did it take threats to IVF? Did it take threats to banning birth control? Maybe so.
Here is a truth: Reproductive health care is now worse for women than it was pre-Roe.
Maybe Liz Cheney, who has said extreme things in the past concerning abortion, has been shocked by the fallout from the overturning of Roe. It is hard to know what she is thinking. I hope she is horrified. I hope millions of other republican women are also horrified. I hope they fear for the health and life of their daughters, sisters, nieces, and friends. I hope that horror translates into votes.

(389 posts)Republicans today hate the Bushes and Cheneys for their criticisms of Trump. And a lot of Democrats still havent forgiven them for Iraq and all of the other horrible Bush-Cheney administration policies that arguably paved the way for Trump.
I just dont understand who this is for.

He is the SAME guy who was the one (R) in 2020 (of the 3 Philadelphia City Commissioners that include 2 (D)s, who oversee elections here in Philly), who testified at the J6 Hearings about the threat to his family for battling the loons in 2022 -
There is a good-sized chunk of Raygun Republicans here in PA who have been silent while the loons were foaming at the mouth. They are from the same Republican wing as the former PA governor and U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburgh (R) and former PA governor and first Secretary of DHS Tom Ridge (R).
