Another Washington Post Editor Resigns

Source: Meidas Touch

This morning, a second Washington Post editor has resigned from the editorial board following the paper's decision not to endorse a Presidential candidate in this year's election. Molly Roberts, a member of the Post's editorial staff, has officially resigned her position today days after the Washington Post Editor At Large stepped down from his position with the paper. Roberts wrote about technology and science.

The Washington Post decided against endorsing in the presidential race despite doing so in every election over the past 30 years. The reason behind the failure to endorse stems from Jeff Bezos, the owner of the Washington Post, who, according to reports, chose to block the endorsement of Vice President Harris.

According to reports, the endorsement of Vice President Harris was written, but the editorial staff did not have a chance to vote on whether to issue it. The same day the news about the Post's failure to endorse broke, executives of Bezos' space flight company, Blue Origin, met with former President Donald Trump.

The Washington Post is not the only newspaper that failed to endorse this cycle. The LA Times also chose against endorsing Vice President Harris because its owner blocked the endorsement, leading to three editors resigning from the paper.

Trump wins, we get a fascist POS and worry about democracy......VP Harris wins, they'll get a great president.

I finished canvassing for Kamala. I was wearing a logo t—shirt and realized I didn’t know her politics so I ducked into the grocery store next to the salon and put my shirt on inside out. How effing crazy is that? That I was worried she might be a crazy MAGA and chop the hell out of my hair.

And when someone will be in your personal space, with scissors or a razor, best to be prudent. That you don't know their politics is a good sign, maybe? Not a rwnj pushing the crazy

After Kamala and Tim win the election, and Jeff Bezos ends up looking like an asshole. Why work for somebody like that? There are going to be new elections in the future, and the Dem candidates are always going to be better than MAGA-Repukes.

This won't go away when Chump croaks or goes to prison. Jeff Bezos will still be an asshole.

Being a creature of habit, morning coffee and various publications start my day. I waffled at cancelling but my husband reminded me that citizen soldiers have one vote, one pen, one keyboard, one voice and to do the right thing for this historic moment. Also, if doing the right thing was easy, then everyone would do it. Supporting Bezos is not a viable choice for me. But, to,each their own.

But it hurts the people at WaPo. They are a vital part of the Fourth Estate. Bezos is abusing the system. I hope that his employees point that out. And I do wish they would publish their endorsement and stand up to their boss.

executives of Bezos' space flight company, Blue Origin, met with former President Donald Trump."

Well, why do you suppose that their meeting DIDN'T result in an endorsement for Trump? Technically, Bezos would have been within his rights to tell WaPo to issue one or be replaced with people who would...Or did Bezos have access to internal poll numbers that inspired him to jump off the Trump express because it was about to derail?

Internal dissension is afoot. Bezos is in a lose-lose.

The less-beloved aspects of corporatism (a vital contributor to fascism) are on display. It's the billionaire who is setting corporate policy above the sentiments of those who actually operate the paper. Not a good look. Bezos now awaits Trump's defeat holding a giant, spoiling egg. No matter the outcome, Bezos does not play "hero."

would be worse than government controlled, for just that reason. The space marketplace would be unhinged, just like arms and weaponrs industry is. totally unregulated and out of control.
I'm sickened to my core about the destruction these ego monsters will be doing to our planet an d now our galaxy. j
