North Carolina is making the Trump campaign nervous

With just three days until the election, former President Donald Trumps campaign remains unsettled about his prospects in North Carolina, a Sun Belt state that hes claimed in two consecutive presidential elections. When asked why, a Trump campaign official put it bluntly. If theres one state that could bite you in the a--, its North Carolina, the official said.
At the same time, Vice President Kamala Harris team, which less than two weeks ago feared the Tar Heel State was a little bit slipping away, is now seeing it as very much in play, a senior campaign official said.
Their dueling outlooks emerged as both campaigns landed in North Carolina, with the candidates rallying voters in a margin-of-error contest thats raising the stakes in every battleground. Of late, Trump has deviated off course and into states like Virginia and New Mexico in the final days of the campaign, declaring he could expand his map. Yet hes made a plan of returning to North Carolina each day until the election.
On Saturday, Trump held rallies in Greensboro and Gastonia, visiting Virginia in between, while Harris landed in Charlotte for a large rally. Trump returns Sunday to Kinston and then is scheduled to hold a rally in Raleigh on Monday. While Harris campaign aides on social media chided Trump for holding a defensive posture in a state that hasnt gone blue since 2008, the Trump campaign cast the repeated visits to North Carolina as an aggressive, cover-all-the-bases strategy.

(6,338 posts)It may not shut him up but it will fix it so that we don't have to hear it.
Besides, it is not his doing that keeps us forever hearing about that orange gibbon... that blame falls on the media who will not stop featuring him on their front pages. Make them stop doing this. Stop reading their crap. Stop clicking and giving them even more money. That is why they do what they do. You remove the income, they will stop constantly showing his face in their paper.

(46,973 posts)It's why he's told to expand his map, and why he mumbles his way through everything. His campaign handlers have put him in an alternate reality until the Greatest Crash.
Tell my why this makes no sense. I fail to see it any other way.

(24,170 posts)We are here from Washington and yesterday we drove to 58 spread out houses and reached personally 59 households in which we could talk with some one from that household we were 52 yes 2 no and 5 non disclosures. I know we were ina very progressive part of the state, but everyone has been telling us that t even deeper blue than four years ago and more people have already voted, I heard that yesterday morning 63 percent of eligible voters have done so. The host family that we have voted yesterday and it took her hour of standing in line to make her way to the voting booth
I no longer live in the recently hurricane ravaged WNC where I grew up, and was sad to see it turn red. Now, I sure hope it's a Harris/Walz win! Blue NC, Blue Ridge Parkway.

(290 posts)the polling companies will point to the 'reverse Bradley Effect' as the reason their polls are so far afield of the reality on the ground. Aside from throwing crap polls into the mix to create the horse race BS, conservative women, IMHO, are lying to the poll takers, if they are talking at all, claiming to be voting for the Convicted Felon but actually voting for Democrats.

(11,399 posts)You just don't understand how polls work. They claim if you take in the margin of error, they were right all along. Or they claim it was just a few points off so polls were really correct all along.
They claim the media looked at a tied race and called it for Trump when they shouldn't have. Very rarely they say yup we got it wrong and we have to understand how and why.
But there are a ton of right wing crap polls that are never going to be held to account. They are about a hundred of them floating around added to the aggregate pollsters like Nate Silver's failed attempts.
And whatever you do, ignore Polymarket. It's a betting site that likes to pretend it can't be rigged by filthy-rich Trump humpers. But it can. Nate Silver is on the board and we know his heart lies with Trump.
No American can legally bet money in the market. So it's just filthy-rich foreigners betting on something they know very little about. I bet it collects a ton of Putin's stolen Russia tax dollars.

(697 posts)While most calls are hang ups, those that answer are 3:1 or 4:1 for Harris. I am supposedly calling registered voters - not a list prescreened for democrats. Of course, the longer calling goes on and persons are identified as either having already voted or voting for Trump the population I am calling is narrowing. But, I see no sign that he is ahead. I know I hang up on many political calls so I don't assume a hang up means pro Kamala or anti Kamala.

(7,395 posts)Come on, you can do it.
You know you wanna go blue.
You did it in 2008, with another black candidate. Now it is 2024, and time for it to happen again.
Remember that old saying, "Once you go black, you never go back."
As Kamala's slogan says,
We're not going back.
