Trump says it's 'tough' for Republicans to win the popular vote

Source: The Hill

11/02/24 7:58 PM ET

Former President Trump argued that Republicans winning the popular vote is “tough” because of Democratic strength in certain strongholds ahead of Election Day on Tuesday.

Trump said at a rally in Virginia that votes need to turn out on Tuesday because he wants to win “everything,” including the popular vote. But he said states like California make winning the popular vote tough.

“When you have New York, Illinois and California, you have automatically, it’s like ridiculous, automatically goes to a Democrat, it’s tough to win the popular vote because they’re three big states,” he said.

While Trump won the presidency in 2016, he was unsuccessful in winning the popular vote that year against Hillary Clinton or in 2020 against President Biden. Democrats have won the popular vote in the past five of six presidential elections going back to 2000, though Republicans have won in the Electoral College three of those times.

he chose the 'harder' path to victory, and won by getting more electoral college votes.

Any stupid lie he feels like belching out of his pie-hole is good enough, as far as he's concerned.

"“It would have been much easier for me to win the so-called popular vote than the Electoral College in that I would only campaign in 3 or 4- states instead of the 15 states that I visited. I would have won even more easily and convincingly (but smaller states are forgotten)!” he added."

the Republicans haven't won the presidential election since Reagan, who, with a major dose of treason with Iran mixed in, 'won'. Of course, corporate media plays a major role in dressing up the Republicans and making them seem reasonable and not batshit crazy like they really are. I have former friends who tripped over a Q and fell into the rabbit hole. They became angry and hostile posting white nationalist crap on their FB pages. Being Catholics, they we three quarters there, apparently. And, the Convicted Felon allowed them to be them to be their racist, anti-anybody but them, types that they hid very well for years. Kinda glad, in a way. Better we should know that our 'former friends' are fascists and to avoid them.
