More than 5,000 requests for abortion pills made in 12 hours after Trump's win as Americans stockpile

The top abortion pill supplier in the US received more than 5,000 requests for medication in the first 12 hours after Donald Trump was projected to win the 2024 presidential election.

Rebecca Gomperts, founder of the supplier Aid Access, told The Guardian the 5,000 requests over 12 hours even surpasses the orders they received in June 2022 after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, which guaranteed the right to an abortion nationwide.

“We have an extremely streamlined process and we are capable of dealing with all the requests really fast,” Gomperts told The Guardian. “But it’s much more [than usual]. And I think the reason is people are now much more aware – people are aware of the possibility of the abortion pill and aware of the threat it will be taken off the market.”

Gomperts’s organization wasn’t alone. The telehealth service Wisp saw a 300 percent uptick in emergency contraception orders, and the abortion pill site Plan C saw a more than 600 percent increase in traffic, The Guardian reports. Abortion was on the ballot in ten states this Election Day. In seven of those states, voters chose to expand abortion rights or even enshrine them in their state constitutions.

But, sadly, I think American women are better off adopting the 4B plan of South Korean women.

Don't date men, don't have sex with men, don't have children, don't marry men.

Until we get our rights back, and I would add signing the ERA, women who can are better off avoiding men.

We have seen the hate speech, advocating violent attacks on women, and expressing the idea that men own women and have the right to control our bodies.

It is vile. Men don't deserve women's company, nor our love and care. We are fully human, and don't deserve to be enslaved by our lady parts.

I already know, not All men, etc. But too many, apparently, subscribe to these vile beliefs and behavior.

I say, no more, until it changes.

Never mind that they are also used to treat women who have had incomplete miscarriages and are in danger of developing sepsis. Either they will have to have a far more expensive surgical procedure or risk dying. Poor women without health insurance may be forced to risk dying.
