President-elect Trump announced that former Ambassador Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would not be joining his administration on Saturday.
I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation, the Republican leader wrote on Truth Social. I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
Pompeo shared that he was open to accepting a position under the former president in March. I dont often comment on jobs Ive not been offered, he told Fox Newss Neil Cavuto, later adding, But if I get a chance to serve and think that I can make a difference
Im almost certainly going to say yes to that opportunity to try and deliver on behalf of the American people.
Haley said she was on standby to help Trump during his campaign, but never joined him on the campaign trail. She congratulated Trump publicly on Wednesday after he was determined the winner of the 2024 election.

Because, yeah, besides that, Pompeo seems to be the perfect fit

(6,578 posts)All that asskissing and groveling and soul selling for nothing, even after telling the truth in a few speeches during the primaries eh there Nikki? Ah well! And oh 🖕🏼🖕🏼you Nikki!

(14,374 posts)Probably wouldn't have made a difference, but it would have made a dent at least if, once she dropped out of the primary, she'd continued speaking out against him, and sided with other No Trumpers

(6,578 posts)As you say in the end it may not have mattered but it showed she was utterly and completely a principleless stooge. So her irrelevancy is richly deserved.

Usually he's either 100% with someone, or he has nothing good to say about them. I would have expected him to say something about what's wrong with them. I can't remember anything like this before. Maybe someone else wrote this one for him.

(35,657 posts)We need to start a lottery on Chump's new cabinet members, and how quickly they get fired. By the end of Chump's first term, he had fired almost every staff and cabinet position more than once. Also many resigned in disgust on quick turnarounds.
How many "Chiefs of Staff" worked for Chump in 4 years? I'll bet it was at least 5 or 6. How many press secretaries did he have? I can remember at least five. Chump is a pathetic man to work for. If anything, he's even worse now.
