Teamsters president to rally with workers as Amazon strike set to go into 2nd day

Workers affiliated with the Teamsters began striking at Amazon facilities across the country Thursday morning -- in what the union calls the largest strike in history against the online shopping giant less than a week before Christmas.

In a news release Thursday evening, the union said "thousands of Teamsters" were taking part in the strikes at facilities in New York City, Atlanta, Southern California, San Francisco and Illinois, but did not provide specific numbers. Later, the union said Teamsters President Sean O'Brien would join striking members at a facility in the City of Industry, California, on Friday as the strike was set to enter its second day.

In addition, the Teamsters said local unions were also picketing "hundreds" of Amazon Fulfillment Centers nationwide.

Amazon said the strike was not expected to impact operations and claimed the strikes were being attended by outside organizers.

What does O'Brien think President Musk and the rest of the oligarchs are going to do to organized labor? They already have crippling the NLRB on the screwedpreme court's docket.

about DeJoy, destroying the USPS and making it a gift to UPS & FEDEX..........

No one is talking about the fact that he will be credited with destroying one of the largest unions in America as a bonus....

In 1980, Reagan, (actually HWBush, Reagan was a puppet), any ways, When Reagan fired the striking AirTraffic Controllers, it was the "shot heard round America" for all unions.

A Journeyman electrician in Denver, before the ATC strike, was being paid 22.00 an hour, plus 26% fringe benefits. After the firing of the ATC workers, the new rate for a Union Journeyman electrician in Denver was 12.00 and hour and NO fringe benefits.......
By firing the ATC workers, HW and his CABAL had notified Corporations across the nation it was okay to trash their union employees because the NLRB would not come to the union employees rescue......

I try not to be mean, but the Rural Trump Voters that got him elected are gonna be shocked when the USPS is destroyed and delivery of Mail and Packages to them becomes the duty of Fed Ex and UPS......."Last Mile Delivery" packages that Fedex/UPS dump on the USPS for delivery is very expensive and they make huge profits when USPS incurs the costs of delivery.......When Fedex/UPS have to start providing that across all of Rural America, what do they think the prices will be to mail letters or ship packages??????????????
And what if they make all of rural America have to drive to a nearby city to pick up their mail, and if that location is only open on Saturdays from 10-4 ??????? Of course if FedEx/UPS absorbs all the rural small town Post offices, they can sell them, and construct a small building where people can go, on Saturdays from 10-4 to send letters and mail packages. Of course, letter prices will go from under a dollar to 15 dollars a letter.........

He said that he lives in the South Bay and they sent him to SF to make deliveries because the SF Amazon workers were striking. He seemed embarrassed telling me this.
