'It never left': GOP senator mocked for claiming Trump has brought Christmas 'back in America'

Source: yahoo

GOP senator Tommy Tuberville has been mocked for claiming that Donald Trump has brought Christmas “back in America.”

The Trump loyalist posted the festive message on social media platform X on Christmas Eve.

“Thanks to President Trump, Christmas is back in America,” Tuberville said. But the former football coach was widely mocked in the responses.

“When idiots say stupid things,” Democratic Party strategist Chris D. Jackson responded.

“Someone has been [at] the eggnog,” one person jibed.

“Christmas is about Christ, but somehow MAGA wants to make it about their god Trump. Sickening,” another person said.

“How did Christmas ever leave America, & how did Trump bring it back?” someone else asked. “I’m 76 I’ve celebrated Christmas every year of my life. Good ones. Bad ones and no one told me how to do it or if I could. Stop with this garbage,” another replied.

People were quick to confirm that they have, indeed, celebrated Christmas during the period when Trump was not president.

“It never left, moron,” someone said.

Christmas has been gone from the U.S.? I didn't know that, when did that happen? If we are lucky maybe Trump can turn water into wine and feed a multitude with only 3 fish.

until the Reagan/Falwell years. Now the evangelicals claim it's satanic, even though it NEVER had anything to do with Satan! It's based on "All Hallows (saints/souls) Eve" which is the day before "All Saints Day".

One of those that was convinced that Halloween is Satanic, or at least pagan. Every year, for October 31st, they would announce a gathering at the church intended to be a substitute for a Halloween party, and they called it a "Harvest festival."

Just shows you what blockheads the God-botherers are. I've never heard anything that sounded as pagan as 'harvest festival'.

Ask these assholes why it's so important. "Because it's Christ's birthday." Really? Why the shepherds were tending their flocks in barren fields in the middle of winter?

Here's what an inquiry to Edge's Copilot A.I. returned:

Why is christmas celebrated on December 25?

Christmas is celebrated on December 25th to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. However, the exact date of Jesus' birth is not mentioned in the Bible, and early Christians did not celebrate his birth. The choice of December 25th was influenced by several factors:

Pagan Festivals: December 25th coincided with the Roman festival of Saturnalia, which celebrated the winter solstice and the "rebirth" of the sun. By choosing this date, early Christians could integrate their celebrations with existing pagan traditions, making it easier to convert pagans to Christianity.

Sol Invictus: The date also aligned with the celebration of Sol Invictus, the "Unconquered Sun," which was a popular festival in the Roman Empire. This festival marked the return of longer days after the winter solstice.

Emperor Constantine: The first recorded celebration of Christmas on December 25th was in 336 AD, during the reign of Emperor Constantine, who was the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity. He played a significant role in promoting Christianity throughout the empire.

I have a cousin who is a brainwashed Fox viewer, and she expressed surprise when I texted her a photo of our Christmas tree. "I didn't think you'd have a Christmas tree," she said. OMG - all I could say was "Of course we do."

Someone (can't remember who) posted on X last night "Christmas is back, it's amazing what having a president who believes in Jesus can do".

I rarely go to X anymore, it's a cespool of morons like the above, I couldn't resist and replied "As opposed to the current president who goes to mass at least once a week?"

I used to think most of them were just trolls but there can't be that many pure trolls, these idiots actually believe this stuff. I'm sure they think video of Biden going to church is AI generated by the deep state.

41. Trump lacks empathy

The point of Dicken's Christmas Carol is that the Christmas spirit (empathy to those less fortunate) should be practiced the year round.

So, in the Dickensian sense of the word Christmas is completely antithetical to Trump's character.

Some of MAGA have contempt for the less fortunate than themselves.
