There is no other Costco equivalent for miles in my area. Some areas are either one or the other.
In a lot of rural areas they only have one or the other as it's not big enough to sustain both.

I had never shopped at their stores, but they decided to not carry any of the assault weapon type guns. AND they didn't sell them to some other store, but actually had their inventory of them in each store destroyed. It was their way of protesting a recent school shooting.......

Any ways, the right wing second amendment crowd launched a boycott of Dicks.............

That specifically compelled me go into one of Dick's stores, and load up on everything I would need for the upcoming summer camping season. Over a thousand bucks as I recall.......
I told the cashier why I was doing it, and it was because of Dick's taking a stand to not support selling those types of weapons....
The Store manager was standing right by him, and commented that their companies sales had actually gone up 20% since the Boycott was called.

I also heard that sales were boosted nicely because of the boycott.

...so that they could open a HUGE Dick's store in place of it! And when I say HUGE, I mean HUGE. Two stories tall, with batting cages, a putting green, and 115,000 square feet of retail space.

The less MAGAts at Costco the better, I'd say. I doubt if it will make a dent in Costco's checkout lines, though.

Costco member for 20+ years but I rarely shop the local warehouse these days, just too many aggressive shoppers, rude people in a hurry shoving carts into you etc. Maybe, just maybe, the MAGA boycott will thin some of the rude shoppers out.

We need to support businesses that align with our values and boycott or at least limit activities at businesses that don’t. It can be hard figuring out some of that due to the large holding companies with many brands etc… but worth figuring it out.

Costco's decision and response to the demand to drop DEI initiatives made the choice an easy one when I was considering dropping our membership. We're going to keep our Costco membership.

We're staying with Costco for the same reason we avoid WalMart, Hobby Lobby, and Home Depot. (Plus we have never eaten the Lord's chicken at Chick-Fil-A, either.)

Costco stores are so popular, they are usually crowded so thinning out the idiots will be good for us all. Believe me, I recognize them being angry for no reason and using bad manners in the store.

Mostly on memberships. I don't think the boycott will go very far.

Occasionally, when I’m shopping there, I’ll ask one of them how they like working at Costco. Without exception, the response has been “I love it, great company.” Such a concept is anathema to MAGA.

I've noticed that there are employees who have been at the Costco I go to for years. That makes me think it must be a decent place to work.

Maybe it’s just me, but every single Costco I’ve been in has a…decidedly different…level of clientele than Walmart/Sam’s Club. I’ll give you three guesses as to which one the MAGAts spend their time and money in, and the first two don’t count.
