Victor Willis is the only original member still performing with the Village People.

He acquired the rights to the group name in 2017, apparently fired the last 2 original members of the group and has proceeded to grift money off of it, ever since. Not to mention, he's tried to straight-wash their history by claiming their hit singles (YMCA, Macho Man, In The Navy, etc.) were NOT gay anthems.

In 2017, he apparently paid for the rights to use the name Village People and has been grifting money off it since then. There were several long term members who were apparently fired by Willis when he took over the group in 2017. Two of them had been there since the beginning, which tells you how big a scumbag Willis is. Seems the current version of "the Village People" is little more than big joke.

It depends on how many people hear it, so if the whole song is broadcast they make more than if only a stadium full hears it.
If they only play a clip of a certain number of seconds they get nothing. Bands make their money touring and merch.
