Gaza ceasefire will end if Hamas does not return hostages Saturday, Netanyahu says
Source: Washington Post
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an address Tuesday that Israel would gather forces inside and around the Gaza Strip in preparation to resume war if hostages held by Hamas are not returned Saturday.
It was not immediately clear if he meant the three hostages whose release had been agreed on or all remaining hostages.
Hamas said Monday it would delay the release until further notice over accusations of Israeli ceasefire violations the first major setback for the ceasefire and hostage-release deal. Netanyahus remarks come after President Donald Trump said Monday that all hell is going to break out if the hostages are not released.

(4,441 posts)East Jerusalem and the West Bank shouldn't be far behind. Even though Israeli sanctioned terrorism against Palestinians there is ongoing.

(18,219 posts)Do they factor into your opinion about "ethnic cleansing"?

(4,402 posts)Would you consider it ethnic cleansing if the Israeli army essentially pushed all 2 million Palestinians out of Gaza and did not allow their return? Just that fact. Would you consider that ethnic cleansing of the Gaza strip?

It's all theater, performative BS.
At this point the only people who care about Jews are other Jews.

(9,625 posts)Trump actually saw the 45-minute horror video on Oct 7. Neither Biden nor Harris saw it. He has also witnessed the state of the returned hostages and the torture and starvation they were subjected to by Gazans.
Watching that will permanently change any humans opinion of what really happened then and what needs to be done to make sure it never happens again. And what must not ever be forgotten is that Hamas has sworn and promised that their goal is to make many more Oct 7 slaughters of Israelis occur. Anyone who thinks that there is any chance for a negotiated peace with these scum of the earth terrorists is delusional.

(4,402 posts)I'm having a little trouble following your post.

(9,625 posts)So far no one seems to have any idea that would permanently end the risk of Hamas. Open to it.
I do think his "Riviera" idea is absurd and evil. But something radical needs to be done to get the remaining hostages and the remains of the murdered hostages back to Israel and ensure safety. As far as what to do with Gaza? Open to ideas that would lead to the above goals and provide some sort of decent post-hamas life for the residents. Any better ideas?
Any better idea?

(9,625 posts)Before Saturday, Hamas can return all the hostages, living or dead. Plus points for surrendering.
The Palestinian population in 1967 was just over one million and today it's nearly five-and-a-half million people.
Israel is apparently the world's worst at ethnic cleansing and genocide.

That's why they need a special UN refugee program that doesn't resettle them, because (add reason here).
... Great at electronics, terrible at genocide.
