Walz responds to Trump refusing to call him after Minnesota shootings

Source: The Hill

06/17/25 1:23 PM ET

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s (D) spokesperson responded to President Trump’s refusal to call him following the shooting of two Minnesota state lawmakers.

“Governor Walz wishes that President Trump would be a President for all Americans, but this tragedy isn’t about Trump or Walz,” spokesperson Teddy Tschann said in a statement Tuesday. “It’s about the Hortman family, the Hoffman family, & the State of Minnesota, and the Governor remains focused on helping all three heal,” he continued.

Walz previously served in the state Legislature with Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman (D), and confirmed her death Saturday at a press conference. “Our state lost a great leader, and I lost a dearest friend,” the governor said.

Trump told reporters early Tuesday during his flight back from the Group of Seven summit that he would not be calling Walz.

I only hope that after he finally does kick the bucket, we can get all of these instances discussed once again to counter any (and all) attempts to rehabilitate his nasty legacy after death.

There are times that mango Mussolini says the appropriate thing.

It must be short. It must be written by someone else. It must be on a teleprompter.
He MUST not add a single word to the script .

Is it likely he would have followed the script....no.

Would it be genuine... absolutely not.

But there is a scenario that it could be appropriate... unlikely but possible

But that pile of moldy mashed potatoes that he calls a brain is convinced that EVERYTHING is about him, ALWAYS.

That's literally how it is in Trump's warped version of reality. I think he sees people as being in 3 (often overlapping) categories:
1. People who have something he wants.
2. People who he believes owe him something.
3. People he has a grudge against.

And since Walz was the running mate of Trump's opponent in the last election, he's firmly in category 3. There's no way Trump could possibly bring himself to call Walz and express condolences, and Walz knows he'd be lying if he did. Trump's refusal to do so reveals exactly who and what he is, and I'm sure Walz knows that, too!

That's why he won't call Walz. Trump and the RW are responsible for the fucking POS who shot those people.

Just look at how Democrats and anyone who opposes him are being treated now.

This is what Trump wants.
