Founder of Right-Wing Group Behind Project 2025 Dies at 83

Edwin J. Feulner, the conservative mastermind who co-founded The Heritage Foundation, has died at 83.

Based in Washington, D.C., the influential right-wing think tank is behind Project 2025, a controversial playbook for President Donald Trump’s second term. The details surrounding Feulner’s death are unknown, with multiple outlets reporting that he died Friday.

He served as president of the foundation from 1977 to 2013 and again from 2017 to 2018. He also served on the transition team of the first Trump administration.

While Trump said he has “nothing to do” with the project, many of his second-term policies mirror the plans set out in the playbook, including his attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion. However, Feulner later endorsed Mike Pence in the 2024 Republican presidential primaries.

All cuddled up with the red man. But, I actually think Satan just went ahead a burned ole Jimmie, and it got so hot he opened the vents and that caused this excessive heat wave up here. Hope he holds off on adding to the flame right away.

Joseph Coors provided the money, and the ubiquitous Paul Weyrich was the real "brains" behind its founding. Weyrich is the figure most credited with the rise of the religious right. His name is everywhere in the right-wing network since the 1970s. He died in 2008.

As provided by Wikihttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Weyrich:

"In 1973, persuading Joseph Coors to support it financially, Weyrich and Edwin Feulner co-founded The Heritage Foundation as a think tank[5] to counter liberal views on taxation and regulation, which they considered to be anti-business."

Justice matters.

This dual usage blurs the definition of what is merely conservative and what is right-wing... to the benefit of right wing freaks. It lets them present themselves as staid and reasonable when in fact they are ideological extremists and nuts who see commies under every rock.
