JD Vance's Hanukkah invitation says 'Celebrating 50 years of Christmas' in embarrassing blunder

Source: The Independent

Thursday 04 December 2025 16:24 EST

In an apparent oversight, Vice President JD Vance has reportedly sent out invitations for a Hanukkah party that said “Celebrating 50 years of Christmas.”

The holiday mix-up was noted by Gabby Deutch, a reporter for Jewish Insider, who shared a photo of the invitation on X Wednesday.

The invite states: “The vice president & the second lady request the pleasure of your company for a Hanukkah reception at the vice president’s residence.” The event is scheduled for December 15. Above this, in large cursive lettering, it reads: “Golden Noel,” followed by “Celebrating 50 years of Christmas at the vice president’s residence.”

It’s not the first time the White House has included references to Christmas while celebrating Hanukkah, Deutch noted. In November 2008, invites for then-President George W. Bush’s Hanukkah reception included images of Christmas trees.

This was no "blunder". It was intentional.

But this one isn't typical. You always have to balance the evidence at hand with the question of it it their evil, their stupid, their greedy or their incompetence behind most of the things they produce.
In this instance the inherent bigotry of LLM’s and a Whitehouse where we known they are lazy and sloppy with AI seems to be another credible possibility for how this was produced.

If they call it "The Golden Noël", they've said "50 years of Christmas" twice.

might be that they are using that Golden Noel, graphic and tag line for all the December celebrations and no one thought it out that this was not good for the Hanukkah event.

It’s also highly possible that the invitation was done in some automated graphics generator based on an AI prompt. These people are dumb, mean, and lazy.

When you occupy a position at the very top level of the federal government, you are EXPECTED to "think it out". The staff are SUPPOSED TO be keeping track and doing some kind of "quality control".

QC was expected and demanded by those "above", for the general civil servant workforce, and in this case, with all the bogus justifications for financially "punishing" people and institutions for "antisemitism", the very act of what they did with these invites, embodies it.
