LOS ANGELES (AP) Michael Reagan, the eldest son of President Ronald Reagan and a conservative commentator, has died. He was 80.
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute announced his death in a post on the social platform X on Tuesday, calling him a steadfast guardian of his fathers legacy.
Michael Reagan lived a life shaped by conviction, purpose, and an abiding devotion to President Reagans ideals, the foundation said.
His cause of death was not immediately announced.

(1,821 posts)At Michael's HS graduation Ronald Reagan didn't even recognize him. RR's EX-wife Actress Jane Wyman adopted him and RR went along with it.

(4,146 posts)I'll just recount how at a U.S. Conference of Mayors in 1981 Reagan greeted the only black member of his cabinet with "hello Mr. Mayor" unaware that it was Samuel Pierce, his HUD secretary. And we didn't think it could get much worse.
