Source: Daily Beast
The former Senate majority leader missed Senate votes on Monday and Tuesday.
Mitch McConnell has been hospitalized after experiencing what a spokesperson described as flu-like symptoms.
The 83-year-old Kentucky senator checked himself into a hospital on Monday evening in an abundance of caution, senior advisor David Popp said in a statement.
His prognosis is positive and he is grateful for the excellent care he is receiving, Popp added. He is in regular contact with his staff and looks forward to returning to Senate business.
The former Senate majority leader missed crucial Senate votes on Monday and Tuesday, Politico reported.

(55,110 posts)I'd rather see him drawn and quartered AND tarred and feathered to be honest. He deserves Karma and dying is not good enough for me. That greedy, sadistic asshole has caused thousands to suffer and die needlessly for 30 years through his evil, maniacal political aspirations.

(77,276 posts)Piece of human filth. He fucked up America but good. In 2016 he was told of Trumps campaign
connections to Russia and help to hide them, after that he could have voted to remove Trump from
office after J-6th and ended his political career, he blocked Obamas right to pick a member of the
SCOTUS to have a hearing in front of the Senate, and he posed with a Confederate Flag too.

Oh, right, McConnell. He's 83. He needs to retire, already. He's poisoned the Senate quite long enough.

(17,811 posts)He's going to stare off into space one last time and then flames will shoot up through the Senate floor and claim his body and soul. Wouldn't that be sweet? It's people like him who make people want to believe in Hell. I don't believe in it myself. I think that eternal damnation isn't just punishment for sins committed over a 70-80 year period. But Mitch McConnell does make me hope that there is some reckoning in the afterlife for what we do down here. He doesn't deserve eternal damnation, but I hope it feels like it is!

(17,811 posts)In his case, he is remarkably candid about power as an end in itself. Taking away his power would probably kill him. That's why I think he'll probably croak in office, if not on the Senate floor.

Whats state law on appointing a replacement? Can Beshear do it as soon as he rammed ACB to replace RBG?

Gotta give them credit on that one.
Dems should make sure to do that in states like Vermont (not wishing Bernie ill, but he is old), blue states with a GOP governor.
