New nutrition guidance from the American Heart Association advises getting protein from plants rather than meat, choosing low-fat or fat-free dairy and using olive, soybean and canola oils instead of beef tallow and butter.
The recommendations, released Tuesday by the association, contrast with dietary guidelines that the Trump administration introduced earlier this year.

Gee, I just don't know whom to believe. On set of guidelines comes from a guy who pulls his car over to cut off the penis of a dead raccoon, and the set of guidelines comes from healthcare professionals. It's so confusing.

(7,913 posts)Countries where the diet gets protein from non-animal sources and is focussed on fresh vegetables spiced up in different ways, with the use of vegetable oils for cooking, have a much healthier population.
Biggest health risks, as far as diet goes:
Sugar.
Animal fats.
Red meat.
Processed meats.
Your classic American diet, in short.

All kidding aside, there's another problem with RFK Jr's diet, Alpha-gal Syndrome, which can occur after certain
types of tick bites and mostly affects adults. Here in Missouri it's becoming a real problem:

The reactions from eating red meat, dairy and organ meats can range from mild to severe, (Anaphylactic shock).
This guy is such a doofus, and he's going to get someone killed!
