A year ago after the 2024 election, Gerry Connolly won the position against younger challenger AOC. However Connolly fell ill and passed away, was briefly replaced by Stephen Lynch, and was finally replaced by García.

It was literally a generational change from Boomers to the younger end of GenX in an attempt to get someone younger and more fiery into that Oversight position, and García has been stepping up to the challenge to be seen and heard.

But it doesn't change my point.

And my opinion is that it might create more incentive for them to cheat and Garcia would do better to hold his fire on this particular subject till after the election, but then to go after them mercilessly.

Although obviously not a 100% slam dunk, the party in power usually loses seats, and even with all the gerrymandering, there are a pile of swing districts that we barely lost in 2024 in swing states, and those give us a good chance for some pickups.
