Today's Tiedrich rant: Donald Trump is increasingly demented - but he's always been a fucking idiot
https://www.jefftiedrich.com/p/donald-trump-is-increasingly-demented
Dear friends: If you're anything like me, you're probably on "Chump overload" by now. I'm posting fewer Tiedrich rants lately because they're mostly about Chump. Tiedrich's great, but a person can only absorb so much before their brain freezes up. Lately I'm trying to post more Dem-friendly stories on DU, and less about Chump.
Stupid J. McFuckingidiot was at it again in another late-night posting frenzy on his failing app. the galaxys preeminent authority on bleach injection decided to weigh in on bitcoin, the imaginary money whose only practical use is paying criminals to commit crimes.

VOTE FOR TRUMP! Bitcoin mining may be our last line of defense against a CBDC. Bidens hatred of Bitcoin only helps China, Russia, and the Radical Communist Left. We want all the remaining Bitcoin to be MADE IN THE USA!!! It will help us be ENERGY DOMINANT!!!
first of all, does Donny understand what bitcoin mining is? does he grasp that bitcoins are generated by computers solving complicated equations, or does he imagine that right now, grizzled old bitcoin miners are digging underground in bitcoin mines in the hills of Kentucky?
Tiedrich is making some great points here. He explains why the legal version of crypto-currency would be anathema to Chump (as well as China, Russia, and y'know ... criminals). Please click on the link to read this rant on "Everyone is entitled to my own opinion."

How much does it take to mine 1 bitcoin?
Bitcoin mining is a highly competitive field, and you will need to make a significant investment if you want to make it worthwhile. For example, it takes around $25,200 worth of mining hardware to mine 1 Bitcoin in a year, and that's without taking other costs such as electricity into account.

66,604 US Dollars.

(35,795 posts)The low-hanging fruit have already been picked, when it comes to bitcoins. It's an expensive operation and it requires huge investments in supercomputers. Remember the good old days, when we used to build things and make things?

(24,178 posts)algorithms already. I'll need to look into Bitcoin, I did a long long time ago (wish that I invested in it, but demurred, too risky and unknown at the time). And there's already other 'bitcoin'-like competitors out there and the Feds still haven't decided (I don't think they have) on a nationwide electronic form of money.
