Jeff Tiedrich - Judge Chutkan gets back to work
Tanya Chutkan the judge presiding over the Big Trump DC Election Interference Fuckery Trial is baaaaack, baby.
Donnys DC trial had been on hold since forever while the six bought-and-paid-for Federalist Society SCOTUS hacks farted around and took their sweet time pretending to figure out how to rule on this whole are presidents actually kings? thing as if the corrupt outcome was ever in doubt.
of course, they finally declared that Donny is A Very Special Boy Who Gets To Commit All The Presidential Crimes He Wants and then dumped the whole thing back in Judge Chutkans lap and said here, someone needs to decide if trying to overturn an election is a Special Presidential Not-Crime, or an Ordinary Person Crime-Crime. that someone is you, so figure it the fuck out.
on Friday afternoon, Judge Chutkan received the ok to start the figure it the fuck out process, and she did not waste a moment.

(10 posts)I enjoy reading your insightful posts but the profanity is not appreciated. I cant share your posts with my children or friends. My parents always told me profanity was a sign of limited vocabulary. I know you have a wide and deep range of knowledge and you can be better.

(10 posts)A flawed study to excuse swearing?
Im sorry I cant agree with you, but I respect your incorrect opinion. Of course Im inclined to defend my parents and the way they raised me.

Oh, and welcome to DU.

(10 posts)Thanks for the welcome sheshe2!!
My comment is that I cant share Jeffs posts with my children, NOT that i disagree. I know how to handle issues.
It seems profanity is that much worse when I consider the source above that language and Jeff certainly is that.
Like people that think its cute to teach children to swear. Or for me personally when a lady swears.

(3,728 posts)Just a heads up. I am known among my friends as a champion of foul language if I think the situation warrants it, and sometimes I'm even a little surprised around here. Fasten your seatbelt!
I am not easily offended. I listen carefully to people that disagree with me, they may be the only ones that pay attention to me.
I like spirited conversations, I consider the source.

(10 posts)I can agree with your position
I can also disagree both without f-you.
The F word has lost its edge but I still find it offensive in daily language. I dont mind standing alone e/my opinion. Just me, eh?

(10 posts)I never said the profanity hurt me, perhaps you can reread. My issue was not wanting to share the posts with my children.
Snarky comment however.

(68,173 posts)Now, this was before the internet. But I don't remember either of my parents ever saying to me "I was going to share this (book, article, anecdote) with you, but the guy used profanity, so I'm afraid not. See how he ruined this moment for us?"

(10 posts)I whole heartedly agree with you. Because they didnt say it to you doesnt mean it didnt happen. Parents tend to protect their children. My parents didnt point it out nor did they intentionally expose me to profanity at a young age either. There are points of view I dont share with my children because of profanity, not because theyre false or misleading, theyre just plain vulgar.
But then again profanity wasnt common or welcome in our home, as you point out correctly, pre internet.

(10 posts)I am painfully aware of that. Improvement can happen anytime, even in the famous and popular.

(4,644 posts)is even better than "weird". It'll make good song lyrics, it's got rhythm.
And with the Deutsch spelling (appropriate for Drumpf), it's not even technically profane.
