This past week, the Democrats stopped simply saying that Republicans were being angry, pessimistic, and backward looking, and instead started acting on a campaign with hope, optimism, and a vision for the future. This past week, the Democrats thanked their old leader sincerely, gave their old guard all due respect, but then moved on, and let a new generation of leaders grab the torch.

In the end, it was – as it should be — all about the strength and charisma of the person in charge. Yes, Black, but nowhere in her acceptance speech defining herself by race.
