Police were today given more time to question a 14-year-old murder suspect following the death of Bhim Kohli in a Leicester park as tributes pour in for the much-loved grandad.
The 80-year-old died in hospital after he suffered a "serious assault" on Sunday evening in Franklin Park in the Braunstone Town area of the city - with detectives later revealing he had suffered a fatal neck injury. Five children were originally arrested on suspicion of murder - three girls and two boys aged 12 to 14. Four of them have been released. The remaining suspect - a 14-year-old boy - can be held until 10pm tonight before police must charge him or release him.
Well-wishers, including Mr Kohli's widow Santinder, laid flowers at the scene of the attack today after police removed a cordon overnight - while Bhim's family released a statement, paying tribute to the popular retired factory owner.
