'A ship on the ocean of reality': New maps show universe is even weirder than we thought
In your everyday life, time and space know how to behave. A kilometre is a kilometre, and an hour is an hour no matter how late you are running.
Perception is not reality. Einstein showed space and time were one thing, and it bends and warps. A decade ago, astronomers for the first time observed gravitational waves: universe-spanning ripples that move through space-time and through us.
This discovery proved to be only part of the story. Astronomers are finding our universe is so permeated by gravitational waves, the fabric of reality is constantly in flux.
The picture that is coming into focus, says astronomer Dr Matt Miles, is one that shows the universe as a vast ocean, dark and powerful.

(123,609 posts)in honor of that moment. Do you know how much work lasagna is? Couldn't you have told me sooner it was you flying by? I did srooms 3 more times in my young adult life and saw nothing ever again.

(6,150 posts)can sometimes react for people. Pot too. I knew a woman who couldn't smoke because instead of becoming mellow she became angry. I have had people tell me over the years of a similar effect like you describe. Their first time with psychedelics was pleasant and very "sensory" and then anything subsequent was just pretty tame. Some tried increasing their intake but still got no mention worthy experience.

And now I have ptsd and am afraid of any effects such legal (this is Canada so weed is legal) or illegal (srooms I think are still illegal though there are sroom dispensary stores popping up everywhere). I just don't want to risk a bad trip even though some people say both are good for people with ptsd. I'm not far enough away in time and distance from my tormentors to be experiment with anything but meds. I did try cbd to help me sleep. Dosing was a problem because it said between 10 mg and 1,200mg. When I read that I was like "F you cbd meds". Srooms I laughed hard all 4 times I took them. I saw nothing except the sky lasagna once. No other hallucinations. I just hit 22 and was beyond wanting to experiment with drugs. I never sook them out. Alcohol was my drug of choice but I didn't go out that much. Cigarettes too, both helped me get over my massive social anxiety.

(6,150 posts)that is dealt with normally by "blocking" it from our minds to a degree the pot can be a bad thing. It tends to mute the "blocking" and allow the mind to more consciously acknowledge the pain etc. Some people claim they are OK with it but I have successfully "blocked" extreme joint pain to the point where it's livable without major pain meds and I don't want to risk anything that would intensify it in my mind.
