Poll: Here's who Democrats think is their leader
https://www.politico.com/news/2025/11/07/poll-leader-democrats-00633577The POLITICO Poll, conducted by Public First in the closing weeks of the election, found a complete lack of consensus among 2024 Kamala Harris voters on an open-ended question: Who do you consider to be the leader of the Democratic Party?
The top response was I dont know, or some similar variation. It made up over one-fifth (21 percent) of responses. Nobody garnered an additional 11 percent.
Harris, the former vice president, was the highest person on the list and the only one in double-digits.

(7,190 posts)And in a poll like this, where the question is worded in such a way as to avoid getting a clear response, I'm not really sure if they intended to get a single response, or if they are fishing for who's name comes up in the polling.
I'd be fine with Gavin Newsom, I think he'd beat any Republican running into a pulp. If we're looking at preparing for a Vance candidacy on the other side, any one of a thousand Democrats could win easily. Vance can't avoid opening his mouth, and he's a gaslighter who's easier to read than trump is.

(Newsom gets my nod because he is seizing the initiative with energy, smarts and a smile. A great example for all)

(7,303 posts)... It was an open ended question asked of voters who (at least claim) to have voted for Harris. They were not picking from a list, they were just naming a name. And almost 1% of the folks who claim to have voted for Harris think TSF is the leader of the Dems. Some people are seriously confused.
Even asking someone who they voted for in the last election is a bit problematic. A lot of people just don't even remember.
