Pros vs. Joes: The Trump Presidency

There used to be a television show called Pros vs. Joes where retired professional athletes competed against extremely athletic everyday people.

The show proved something most fans don’t realize: the gap between being good at something and being a professional is enormous.

Watching the second Trump administration unfold, I can’t help but think America is living through its own version of that show.

Everyone seems to believe they can be a professional at anything. That you can walk in off the street and immediately perform at a level that took others a lifetime of dedication, failure, learning, and discipline to achieve.
