'Cowardly and Despicable': Hegseth Condemned for Sinking of 'Defenseless' Iranian Ship

"US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Thursday was condemned for his boasts on Wednesday about sinking an Iranian military ship after allegations emerged that it was 'defenseless' at the time it was torpedoed in international waters by a US submarine."

"Military.com reported Thursday that the Iranian ship had been departing from a biennial multinational naval training exercise that it had been invited to participate in by the Indian government."

"In a social media post, former Indian Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal said there was no way that the Iranian ship could have been perceived as any kind of military threat."

“ 'I am told that as per protocol for this exercise ships cannot carry any ammunition,' he wrote. 'It was defenseless... The attack by the US submarine was premeditated as the US was aware of the Iranian ship’s presence in the exercise to which the US navy was invited but withdrew from participation at the last minute, presumably with this operation in mind.' "

"Drop Site News reporter Ryan Grim noted that, in addition to striking what appears to have been a defenseless boat, the US also didn’t help rescue any of the shipwrecked men who were aboard the vessel."

7. Not rescuing survivors is a heinous crime - even in the worst times of warfare sailors took pity on each other.

While this administration has rot from the top on down, the decision by the sub commander to not attempt rescue should fall on his/her shoulders as well as anyone above who sanctioned this crime.

8. That's two war crimes. They stalked and attacked an innocent ship without a declaration of war.

10. I not only wish my scream could be heard around the world...

I wish the screams and the gnashing of teeth could actually do some good. I read the horrendous things going on now in our name, and I feel so futile in my puny attempts at protest. Truth is, I want Karma to get a good leg on trump, Noem, Kristi, Miller, and all the miscreants. Take them all out at once, with as much mercy as they have shown the defenseless boats and ships they've sunk. They could never repay us for all the sorrow, pain, and grief we in America (and the world, now) feel... it is embedded so deeply many of us will be going to our graves with it foremost in our hearts. And tho once upon a time, I was a gentle soul, these last 10 years have taught me what it is to hate; what it is to feel impotent; what it is to feel so frustrated with no catharsis. I wish I could be the karma visited upon trump. He has turned a nation with troubles, but trying to find its way... into a plot of land where he and his ilk are kings, and we are nothing but sturm for their drang. We work to survive, while they take away all they possibly can in taxes, tariffs, and grift. They have ruined the name of a once great, open society of military members who actually tried to help as much as they had their military orders, and turned it into Hitler's army.

trump has turned me into a believer of reincarnation... because he IS the reincarnation of Hitler. And here's hoping he and his maladministration goes down the way Hitler and his minions did. Because I can't take much more of the evil.
