1. Biden's using the IEEPA is a big deal for Ukraine. As Tribe says, if other nations take his lead,

it could lead to $500 billion freed up for the rebuilding and fortifying of Ukraine.

3. Ukraine will get that money. Tribe is right that the G7 will probably follow Biden's lead.

Given the GOP's intent to help Putin, this will squash all their efforts.

4. That would be wonderful. Ukraine needs all the help they can get from allies.

This unprovoked war has already gone on for so long and the damage to the infrastructure and the environment is incalculable. As for the Republicans, this would be yet another inexplicable act. They are obviously no longer even the party of Reagan. He was as tough on the USSR and Gorbachev as anyone, we can remember his shout in Berlin - "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" But they are now the party of TFG who admires dictators.

6. This was one of the best Lawrence O'Donnell's programs ever

What I gathered from Professor Tribe was that this "frozen money" could be used for reconstruction,
they never talked about whether the frozen money could be sent to Ukraine now to help them buy
more arms and ammunition.

8. I wondered about that, too - Why not send it now?

Or would it take time for one reason or another? Would some entity need to approve it?

Professor Tribe was talking about the George H W Bush's regulation that seized money would be sent to the
victim country to rebuild.

I have no idea how it's worded but if President Biden could find a way around it and send Ukraine $35 billion
ASAP, I think he would become a National Hero over here, using Russian money against Putin and saving
taxpayers dollars. Rich Rs would even like to see him do that.

FQX of course will find something negative to say and should backfire on them.

9. And how would Republicans in Congress feel about it?

We know that anything that the president supports, they automatically feel just the opposite - even and especially if it helps the people!

And since we know that TFG supports Putin, I read earlier that Republicans in Congress are tilting the same way... I mean, WTF?? This is no longer the party of Reagan who demanded that "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" But I agree, this could help to end the war and save countless lives - on both sides!

10. If Biden promotes it as saving our taxpayers $$$$$

I suspect most Rs would vote with Biden's idea, some of course never will no matter what.
And I'm still headed to bed, long time since I've been up this late, see you tomorrow.
