The GOP shutdown could destroy Americas credit rating. Nobody wants a BAD credit rating!! Certainly not the USA whos gold rating will be tarnished if the government shuts down due to the GOPs sturm und drang. Furthermore, the rating could even go negative if the government doesnt pay its bills on time. The GOP proves once again they cant govern and they cant manage money. - Aired on 09/26/2023.

(25,267 posts)he gets it and talks about "the news," not about clap trap.
Everything is going according to plan, the minority Magats with dear leader calling the shots are on track to end our democracy.
Putin and MBS are helping by cutting back oil production to get gas prices sky high and inflation sky high right about election time and the right wing controlled MSM will blame president Biden.
Democrats need to fight back now, get the message out now. I like what Schumer did with the Senate spending bill but he should have done it sooner, it may be too late?

(24,105 posts)to not let politics play w/ this very important stat, that the Nation's debt limit (why is this a thing?, it should have never been allowed to be used in such a manner). After all, when my credit history etc. is reviewed etc., the banks etc. don't toss the figures around, force me to do other things to juice the credit / debt numbers.
The debt number is simply that, a debt number, an artificial number that both sides of the fence (repugs and democrats) negotiated so why is one side allowed to do this? After all, both sides do agree eventually to allow the spending that causes these numbers to go up or (rarely) down.
For those who want the worse for America and creditors (e.g., my savings bonds, other forms of investing in our government)...why should they be allowed to do this? Countless retirees, institutions, etc. rely on these instruments as a means of investments, T-bills, etc.
