WATERLOO — Thousands came out on Saturday to see former president and Republican frontrunner Donald Trump as he made a campaign stop at the National Cattle Congress grounds.

It’s one of a slew of stops Trump has made in the state leading up to the Iowa caucuses in January, including one in Cedar Rapids the same day. Trump used the opportunity to address his supporters.

“Things are not the same as they were just three years ago when you take a look. They weren’t ever as good and now they are really, probably maybe the worst we’ve ever seen in terms of our country,” Trump said. “You need to get every patriot you know and make sure that they’re registered … and get them out to vote and get them to go to their local precinct caucus meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15.”


Urging his supporters to vote, he likened the election to “going to war” with “some very evil people.”



“Now the nice part about my indictments is they’ve driven us up because they realize they’re fake and phony,” he said.

“I’m the only person that ever got indicted whose poll numbers shot up through the roof,” he boasted........................................................
