Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) - Homeschooling

John Oliver discusses homeschooling, its surprising lack of regulation in many states, and, crucially, Darth Vader’s parenting skills. - Aired on 10/08/2023.

And here's a "bootleg" version of the show which includes John's initial comments on recent events including: House Speaker Kevin McCarthy being replaced by an ventriloquist's angry dummy; extremist nominations for a new House Speaker; a MAGA candidate running for mayor in Franklin, Tennessee who opposed her city's pride event, tried to pressure the Nashville airport out of holding a Juneteenth celebration, claimed to know "psychically" when a school shooting was about to happen and represents the real estate listing for the owner of a "neo-nazi fight club;" and conspiracy theories about Taylor Swift. It won't last long, as usual:

He looks like 'a cat Zoltar machine making a wish to be Andy Griffith".

I keep waiting for Kissinber to die too, especially when I hear Carter is 99. I want him to see Henry go to Hell.

Yes, teachers should get paid $ one million. Dealing with all the BS from states, districts, parents, etc is not what teachers sign up for when they wanted to be plain, normal teachers teaching what they were trained to teach.

Actually I did, too, I spent a year in a classroom working with disabled kids and I loved them. But these days there's a shortage, many teachers are quitting because of threats regarding what they teach.
