I do want to mention how offensive the video is by trying to pretend that the increased severe rainfall is "normal" (his word) and that they only problem is fixing the sanitary sewers (which shouldn't be handling storm run-off in the first place).

Severe storm water is increasing drastically on the east coast and will continue to increase due to the effects of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.

In addition, the sea level is rising and will continue to rise around NYC, and the Hudson River and East River will be carrying much more water from farther up the watershed (again, due to the effects of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere). Also, a good portion of the city has a street level elevation of only up to 10 feet above sea level (and of course, anything below street level is worse, including the sewer drainage systems).

So, water amounts will be increasing from above and below.

The sewer system is the least of NYC's quickly approaching problems.
