Per her daughter, who used to post here as MaltaBlue, she passed away in her sleep last night, after a months long battle with cancer. She was 76. May her spirit soar, and may her light shine always on those who knew and loved her.

She was one of the few people I could talk to about politics, and we were DU buddies.
She had moved several years ago, but we stayed in touch. She told me she was terminally ill in Feb and then she stopped taking my calls and answering her texts in May. I spoke with her daughter in late May and she told me Ann was in palliative care. My heart is broken to know she is gone. But she knew what her fate was and told me she was OK with it, she had lived a good life. She lost her beloved dog Boogie within the past year, so I know they're having a wonderful reunion.
Rest in peace my friend.

(63,107 posts)crossed over. But I believe that she was healed and free of pain the instant she crossed, and that you will see her again.
She posted some of her botanical watercolors here years ago. Unfortunately her Photobucket account is gone, but Steerpike reposted one that's still here, in this thread - https://www.democraticunderground.com/1028268 - where Skinner had also given her artwork a thumbs-up.
Picture her healthy and young again, surrounded by the beautiful plants she loved. I believe that is her reality now.
And thanks, SCE, for letting us know, and for keeping her daughter in touch with DU this way.

(4,671 posts)recognize her DU name, I definitely will miss her Democratic vote. We can best make a pledge to engage at least two more Democratic voters, in memorium, as we race toward those primaries. May her memory bring blessings of peace and tranquility. In remembrance of this DU member:

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
