wire upside down by his feet sleeping. I yelled at it and it flew to the other side of our street and hung by the feet upside down. I looked closer and it was not a bat. I have never seen a bird do this. Any birders know what is going on with this bird. Thank you

2. Thank you. This looked more like a sparrow. The coloring on it was a brownish color. That's why I thought it was a bat.

In some hummingbird species, the females are mostly brownish.
