So, new Happy Hour server, quiet, air of I've-had-a-tough-life-am-doing-a-job. She was attentive. Late in the Happy Hour a dude arrived and there was obviously some kind of connection vibe. Somebody was dominant.

So my -dar kicked in and the dude did his dude thing about not interacting yet being somewhere there.. But eventually he went outside to smoke and I asked (none of my business), are you all something and she said yes, but there was some kind of complication. What could it be, the predictable things like somebody's married, kids are somewhere, what. None of my business. Some hurt in the air somewhere.

So post-smoke, dude back, and I say (not supposed to say unasked for things), you all are a purty couple. He didn't deny it. Should I continue with this?
